I think that the best scene for a horror game is actually underwater.
This is one of the games that you can easily get hooked and be immersed within it. Every tiny movement of something might be useful or might be a threat and this tension is obviously maintained throughout the game.
This narrow visible field of view will force you to always look around you. The atmosphere is very well made with particles flowing in the water that makes the underwater feel more realistic and the experience more convincing. I like that they make most of the areas pitch-black and the only illumination is the one that comes from your suit. I've seen some gameplay videos and the game looks amazing. The controls are pretty straightforward: you use the joysticks for body and head movement, X for interacting with objects, the front buttons on the controller for forward and reverse boost, use your knife or use your flare gun. You can really feel that sense of loneliness and fear from everything that moves around you. In my opinion, this is essential to ignite survival instincts and emotions that every human being has. You will be more immersed with every tiny movement and sound. The only illumination that you see is what's in the game. This is because in VR you'll get that sense of being surrounded by water and in a dark place. No doubt that on VR this game is going to be much scarier than playing it without the Oculus Rift headset. The main character suffers from hallucinations during the time underwater, and the game has a strong narrative that unfolds as you progress through the game There are many environmental threats like creature that will try to hurt you and you need to find a way to stay safe because no one can help you out. Narcosis is one of the games that are just built to be awesome in VR and can enhance the immersion of the player in this type of game times fold.
You can stay in the facility and be safe, but you have a limited amount of oxygen, so you have no choice but to get out of the facility and explore the dark abyss, hopefully, find a way to surface up and go back home. You find yourself alone trying to find a way to survive and get back home alive. You play as a diver whom after an accident has occurred in a deep ocean facility that you are working.
